Twitter is consistently rated as the second-best social network for B2B and tech companies, behind only LinkedIn. So, not surprisingly, the vast majority of Minnesota tech companies have a Twitter presence. But looking at current data, it doesn’t appear that all of them are using Twitter to its full potential.
This research looked at 187 companies tracked over the past decade on the Minnesota Technology Twitter list. Of those, 24 have disappeared or been acquired. Five accounts appear to be temporarily inactive due to business impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of the remaining 158, 28 have been inactive for anywhere from a few months to as long as five years(!). That means 82% of these Minnesota tech companies remain active on the platform. Not a perfect score, but better than the 54% level of B2B tech companies overall.
