As previously noted, I don’t often share personal news here.
But I’m about to embark on a significant career change, and it will affect the content and timing of posts here on Webbiquity, so—this seemed important to share. Nope, returning to the consulting world. I missed the opportunity to help awesome clients improve their online visibility and business results, so I’m back to pursuing that passion, as well as helping companies craft marketing technology strategy. Beginning next week, I’ll be moving from consulting back into the corporate world. I’m taking on a role at the intersection of sales and marketing with an exciting, growing business, Blackboard Transact.
Put most simply, the company enables colleges and universities to provide their students, faculty and staff easy and secure financial commerce and security management with a single secure credential. Blackboard Transact provides school-branded credentials (cards or mobile phone), cloud-based and on-premise software, implementation and training services, and innovative hardware to manage financial transactions and facilities access.
Schools use the company’s credential and software to provide students with a simpler, better, safer on-campus experience. As a parent of two college students, that’s important to me. I’ve visited schools that still struggle with outdated, patched-together systems for financial and physical access; and I’ve seen the difference Blackboard Transact systems can make.
This is a big change with significant new challenges. But without change and challenge, there is no growth. And I’m excited to be joining a smart, passionate group of professionals committed to helping colleges and universities improve the student experience.
I’ve been honored to work over the past decade with dozens of phenomenal clients, from solopreneurs and thought leaders like Deb Calvert, Ken Thoreson and Babette Ten Haken to growing, innovative software companies like G2Planet, Agile Frameworks, and Kinetic Data to industry-leading companies like EnPro Industries in engineered products and TAB in records management. I’ve worked with clients directly as well as through nimble creative agencies like V3+Broadsuite, KC Associates, and B2B Communications.
I’ll always value the amazing clients I’ve had the opportunity to help over the past decade-plus and the relationships built.
But I look forward to focusing my energy on one “client,” helping Blackboard Transact continue its growth and pursue its mission getting back to work helping some of the phenomenal clients listed above plus new ones!
